Friends of APSOL
Join the school parent community
We hope to develop an active and welcoming parent community where families can meet, build friendships and support one another.
Parent coffee mornings, social events, workshops and community activities can provide opportunities to connect with other families and become more involved in school life.
When your child starts at APSoL, you become a Friend of APSOL.
The Friends of APSoL (FoAPSoL) is the school’s parent-and-community volunteer organisation. It is a registered charity (No. 1206359) whose purpose is to support and enrich the educational experience of children at the Anglo-Portuguese School of London.
In practical terms, it is a little like a PTA, but extends past the school community.
Who are the core members of the Friends of APSoL?
Chair: Ivone (Y4 parent)
Co-Chair: Nirvana (Y3 parent)
Secretary: Loide (Y2 parent)
Secretary: Celina (Y4 parent)
Treasurer: Andrei (Y3 parent)
The core group meet several times a year and plan events which they will then need lots of parent volunteers to support with.
What does Friends of APSoL do?
The organisation works closely with the school to:
- Raise funds to provide additional equipment, resources and opportunities for pupils.
- Organise events and activities, including fairs, bake sales and cultural celebrations.
- Bring families together and strengthen relationships between parents, children, staff and the wider community.
- Celebrate the school's multicultural community, including through bilingual and culturally diverse events.
- Support families, for example through second-hand uniform sales.
- Provide opportunities for parents, grandparents and other members of the community.
